"If you close your eyes, you can see the music" is a long term project - the following short pieces are the musical equivalent of an artist's sketchbook, short demo drafts of ideas - I see these pieces as being the aural equivalent of a pencil sketch, a musical backdrop to a piece of as yet unwritten poetry, or for a film not yet made. Some of them might develop into something bigger or more polished, some of them may remain on the shelf.
This was a piece I created after going to a gig with a friend in late 2024 - we got chatting about atmospherics in music after seeing a solo performance by Hayden Calnin, and I was trying to emulate both that quiet, dramatic style, blended with a bit of Bon Iver........it's of a style which fits in with the "If you close your eyes..." pieces and will quite possibly end up as part of that project.
